Frequently Asked Questions |
This section deals with all the questions I have recieved over the past few years (or maybe I would receive if I didn't say something). I now have 8 MM sections (including this one) so I will post related questions to the appropriate location. This gives you and me 2 advantages. Number 1: You're not forced to listen to all my blabbing as you view the regular pages, and Number 2: It saves some loading time. The top of this page lists the latest updates and renovations. The rest of the page are dedicated to the questions.

LATEST UPDATES TO JOEY'S MEGA MAN CORNER: |
05.01.2006 - I'm forcing myself to update SOMETHING for the 9-year anniversary of JMMC. Pretty much fixing all the dead links, and removing just about all content from the AOL servers (something I should have done like YEARS ago). All this moving around stuff and unbreaking links is just a temporary fix for JMMC until the real deal renovation happens. It is, of course, speculative as to when v5.0 rolls out. Hopefully in time for the 10-year anniversary of JMMC.

Q: Aren't you a little old for Mega Man?
A: Goo goo gaa gaa. Me only two yea' old! If you think I'm too old for Mega Man, look at Mandi Paugh, creator of the Mega Man Home Page. She's just a bit older than I am. Die-hard Mega Man freaks will never grow old.
Q: Will you post up hints, walk-throughs, or galleries from Mega Man?
A: Nope, my MM site is mainly for collectibles and music only. There are so many other MM sites that already have hints, databases, walkthroughs, sprites, and pictures. If you're asking me, you obviously haven't looked hard enough in the Mega Man web page field.

Q: Are your figures for sale?
A: NO! You have to have carrots coming out of your head if you think I'm going to give up my precious Mega Man Figures and other whatnot. The only reason I have them posted are for informational purposes, to let you know what's out there, and what it's worth. They will never ever be for sale (not even if I'm starving and need money for food). Check other places, including the internet-auction site of eBay to see if Mega Man figures are available.
Q: Where can I find these figures? Can you tell me where?
A: Check eBay first. They have MM stuff all the time. There are some online stores that may carry what you're looking for. But please don't ask me, because I'll ignore the question. Look around, because your guess is as good as mine.
Q: Did you take your figures out of their packaging? I can't believe you!!
A:Yes, I took all the figures out of their packaging. I didn't do it because of this page, but because I proudly display them in my room. I know all you collectors are shouting: "You fool! How could you do such a thing?" For one thing, I didn't care that opening them decreased their value. But even if I cared about value, for crying out loud, what good are they doing me sealed in their box? They're only worth money if someone wants to buy them, and no way am I going to sell mine. They're proudly on display under all my MM boxes like they should be.
Q: What source do you get your figure prices from?
A:The source I use in accordance with the Mega Man figures is Lee's Action Figure News & Toy Review, which I have been using for some time. I no longer use prices from Collecting Figures, since I haven't seen an issue for years. Usually prices will fluctuate once or twice a year. I will check every few months for any changes in the Mega Man figure values and update appropriately.

Q: Where did you find these things?
A: I attained these years ago, back when I was in Junior High. I bought the first one (MM2) at Toys R Us, and the second one (MM3) my sister got for my birthday. As far as trying to find them today, I have seen a few on eBay, but they must be collectors items because they always fetch a pretty penny. (More than $10 anyway...) You also might want to try garage sales, since Tiger games seem like the type to pop up as a garage sale item.
Q: Where did you get the Javascript?
A: Up until recently, I was just swiping the code from different sites. I know, horrible me. But during the Fall 1999 semester at my local JC, I learned the basics of the C++ programming language, which has a lot of similarities to JavaScript, so now I've learned to do my own basic code.
Q: How did you get the little illustrations and such?
A: Since I bought these new, there was a manual that came with them. The instruction booklet had near-perfect diagrams of what the characters looked like on the screen. So with a handy scanner, I got the job done.

Q: Where did you find all this Mega Man stuff?
A:Fine question. I don't know either. Lucky breaks, eBay, being at the right place, eBay, knowing the right people.... oh, did I forget to mention eBay? ^_^
Q: Wanna know where you can get lots of Rockman (X) figures?
A: Nope. I have all the connections I need around here. Besides web sites, I do live in Orange County, California, where the Asian communities are plentiful, as well as their anime stores and whatnot. So save yourself some typing because I know where to get figures, if I really want them.

Q: How can I be a sponsor? What do I have to do?
A: All I need from you is your real name, your "web" name (the name you like to go by on the Net), the web site address, a 20-word description of your site, and a small sprite/logo that you use for your site. For ideas, you can look at the other sponsors already listed.
Q: What's up with this Flash thing you're doing?
A: When I get a chance, I will be making an animated Flash menu, and each sponsor will get a custom made square with all the little bells and whistles attached. Since MM sites
are somewhat fluctuating in "availability" this will be easier to oust the dead sites and add new ones in a snap, instead of doing all that old JavaScript crap.
